The Night Waves

I screamed.
The night waves engulfed me and
I tore the hair from my head and rent my garments
like the crazed.
I banged the door until my fists bled
I swallowed the salt water and my eyes burned.
Hoarse, blinded and bloodied I crumpled like the dead to the grave
that tried to sink me.

Then You

looked

straight into my eyes, and lit my soul afire.

In the silent flames You spoke:
The darkness dares to steal my own? It shall not be so.

You tore the stars in half
and cleared the skies.
With unblemished rage, in fury
You flung the dark aside
and reached down…

to pierce the depths
And the dark obeyed.

The trembling dark obeyed.
